- To toggle dark mode on Bluesky: tap the moon icon in the sidebar
- You automatically get 1 invite to share every 2 weeks (may be manually sent more if you're helpful/etc)
- To appear on the What's Hot feed your post must have at least 12 likes
- No gif/video support yet
- To let your friends easily find you, consider using the same name/profile picture from other social media

Glossary:
- "API" (Application Programming Interface) - allows users and tools to interact with the server to offer custom functionality in the form of clients, services, or tools.
- "(Bluesky) Client" - Bluesky is an app built on the AT Protocol, an open-source framework for building social apps. This allows people to easily move across different apps (and providers) and keep their contacts/posts.
- "DID" (Decentralized Identifier) - a way to reference a user regardless of what they change their username/handle to. You typically don't need to worry about this. Example DID: did:plc:aujkwexvmmcaf77yfxcuitql
- "Federation/Decentralized" - think of emails and how there are multiple email providers and different email addresses. Bluesky will be just one provider out of many and you can choose (eg. @handle.bsky.social).
- "Ropes" - a thread of posts/skeets.
- "Skeet" - *unofficial* term referring to a single post ("sky" + "tweet"); "skeets" = multiple posts; "skeeter" = a poster. Term endorsed by Jake Tapper on CNN's The Lead on May 1, 2023.
- "Skyline" - the timeline.
- "Skymates" - other users.
- "TPOT" (That Part of Twitter)
